I hate to bring this up as the OT police might get me, but I need an Inline Detroit 453 for an excavator I'm working in.
Anyone know where I can find one around Arkansas/
Brian

I think a Deere 1010 diesel with twin turbo and nitrous oxide would do it.. [This is the only way I could think of to keep this going....] sorry uncle...

Got any government surplus depots nearby?? They used oodles of them in equipment..Here in Ohio , there's several within 2 hours distance..Some truck salvage yards have them too..I like to refer to them as a " Converter Engine "....They convert diesel fuel into noise..... .Sorry , I got carried away again...Lord , please forgive me...

They might be noisy, but there is nothing tougher or more durable, except a 71 series Detroit.

....except the "B" series Cummins that replaced a lot of them. There's probably not much around that's cheaper to fix than the Detroit's, but there's certainly drier and more efficient engines.
