JD 4320 question

Looking at some JD 4320"s and have a couple of questions. Is it true that the 4320"s were only made for one year? I"ve noticed some advertised as 1971 and some as 1972"s.

Also, why do some of them have the really large, tall air intake/cleaner stack right in front of the muffler, but other"s don"t? Was that an option that had to be ordered or what?

Thanks
DJL

Iam a died in the wool Oliver man, mixed with a little Farmall, and allis, but I will agree 10 foot tall and bullit proof.I will have me one some day.Inlaws had one applying anhydrous beside a newer 4850,and the old 4320 would almost lap it in three rounds.

By far the best tractor I have ever owned. Has a balance of power and feel that I have never seen duplicated. A friend of mine visited the JD factory and after taking the tour the question was asked if anyone had any suggestions. My friend told them they should still be making 4320's. Amen to the other post's.

The 4320 was a glorified 4020 with more HP. Not too many of them were made but they were a heck of a good tractor. Too bad they didn't still make them. Don't think you can go wrong with this model. Good luck.

4320's were made in 1971 and 1972. The air cleaner stack was an option, both factory and dealer installed. One of the best and toughest tractors ever made.
