Hello, make sure that after your couplers are properly attached, that the levers on the hydraulic blocks are opened. Open is parallel to the ground and closed has the levers sitting straight up and down. Hope that this helps . Tom

Ain't that something?

I've done that so darned many times, I don't even think about "turnin' 'em on". Just an automatic thing. :>)

The 86 series should have what was referred to as the new style IH couplings. These are great as they allow you to hook and unhook implementings up or down (under pressure) and will self disconnect if say the hitch pin falls out.

Unfortunatly they are are IH only and need an adapter for ISO tips.

1.) turn the top lever up and bottom lever down
2.) Hold or push from the back. I want to call it a button but its the body of the coupler that connects to the tip. this is inside of the cast housing.
3.) insert the tip
4.) move the lever paralell with the hyd line.
5.) your ready to go.

If the tips are not in far enough or the levers not paralell with the lines you won't be able to activate the cylinder on the implement.

I've got a bunch of IH Tips if your interested - sold my last 86 series a couple of years ago.

I don't own a big 86 model, but as I remember it, the controls are on the right side of the seat.

In the back of the tractor, the two left ports should be for the lever closest to the seat; the right two ports are for the outer most lever.

Plug your cylinder into either the left set or the right set of ports; doesn't matter which. Just make sure the couplers are seated properly.
