THANK-YOU ALL for your advise. I took off that gear puller, started heating the drum between the wheel studs (after replacing the nuts onto the studs)gave that drum a few good hard smacks with the 4lb hammer and off it came, no problem.

Now i have an idea of what they need and I'm not afraid to get onto the other side, again, thank-you.

Thanks to you for asking and Michael for his advice I may now have the nerve to use the torch to remove one on my tractor. I tried beating and framming but was leery of the flame. Thanx, Cosmo

The blue wrench does it again! I used to be leery of the blue wrench, I figured cast would break, things would warp..and then I worked in my friend's auto repair shop for three years, there wasn't many jobs that we didn't need the blue wrench and I found it doesn't break stuff and it doesn't warp stuff..heat it, douse it with cold water and take it off with your hands..in most cases and with wrench or puller once heated and cooled. Glad you got the drum off, now you can make your repair easily..good luck!

If you heat anything cast or hardened then throw cold water on it it will crack. You may not see the crack but if you heat it again you will see it then.
