The migration is going over O'Hare airport toward WI. Should last for a couple of days.

I think they are beautiful creatures. My grandmother (Kiss, FL) hates 'em. (Cantankerous Grandma) She also hates the neighbors and the neighbors feed and care for the cranes, so there you go. They are magnificent creatures and seem to trust me as I approach (within reason). Grandma accuses the cranes of eating her gardens, not sure if it is true or not. Heck, I would plant 'em a complete diet if it would mean that I would get to see them more often. Wish they would stop around here, we could use a little excitement!

I've seen one or two the past few days - 30 miles west of Minneapolis.

We have a lot of them around here in northwestern Washtenaw county, Jackson, Livingston and Ingham counties. They do not like our Lhasa Apso dog. He is curious about them but they do not trust him. They make the weirdest noise. I have never heard anyone that can imitate it.

Saw 3 yeaterday morning here in mid Michigan while I was hauling manure. They're getting to be as thick as turkeys around here.

I am in Indiana, in the flight pattern for O-hare. The cranes were flying over last week here.

I have some permanent resident Sand Hill Cranes at my place in Fl. Have a hen setting on her nest right now.
