I have noticed our dear red friend Allan in NE over on the Deere board again. I have to admire that, because it shows he is a truely enlightened tractor nut. HUGH Mc-you're right all brands have strengths, and weaknesses. I couldn't call myself partial to anyone brand- I want one of them all. Speaking of that, nation wide with commodity prices up are we seeing the prices on used tractors creeping up any. I just think some in our area are pushing their used prices up a little high. HP range 40-90

I agree with HayMakin, I'd like to have one of every make, as long as they are made in an english speaking country. I grew up with a 2N Ford, BF Avery, And John Deer, & IH. I have an Oliver 88 that I love even though it's an off color green ! That green & Red grows on you!!

I've had orange tractors,2 shades of red and now green and I'm sticking with the green. Ain't got that much but I enjoy messing around with it. As far as Allen's front mounted cultivator,I just don't know what he's gonna surprise us with next.

Let's set the record straight, that 'taint my cultivator.

I'd buy a small square baler first. :>)

Now, wait a minute.

IH doesn't have any weaknesses.

Well, other than that goofy, looney-tune cultivator. Can you imagine the kink in a fellers neck trying to drive that silly thing? :>)

I believe that mother Deere had cultivators just like that one.

No, I was never let close to fields with a cultivator no matter where it was mounted I did too much damage to fast. I do like the rear mounted cultivators though, I can't see the damage I'm doing, and seriously if that thing mounted to the front of that IH? I stick to hay, I ain't a row cropper. On that price thing, I did notice an individual post an ad in my area for a 4020 diesel, $7000 grand, supposedly rebuilt. Either way that same 4020 on some of dealer lots would be closer to 10,000. I can't really find any used IH stuff around Mobile-ie 806's. Most I find on the net are reasonable (better than that 4020's price), but closer out west or well north. Keep'em confused Allan-986 looks good too.
