There is an auction this weekend with a 2670 case tractor on it but the turbo is out of it. Do any of you know what it would cost to get the turbo rebuilt in it?
Thanks

A rebuilt TO4 runs between 350 to 400 dollars.

I had my Chevy truck turbo gone through while I did some head work, basically a clean/inspect/reseal and that was 300.00.
I would be a complete overhaul that included an impeller would be 1500.00-2000.00. Parts are the big $$ and have the greatest impact on cost.
300 degrees is the magic number on the pyrometer as the turbo needs to cool down for a few minutes before it gets shut off. Oil oxidizes at 300+ so if you shut it off hot the oil turns to varnish and eventually coke. Once you lose the ability to cool/lubricate the impeller that is spinning 10,000rpm+ it shells out and you need to replace lots of stuff.
Good luck and I hope it works out well for you.

I'd be leary of them saying the "Turbo is out" What's actually wrong with it ? I have visions of the turbo having broke apart and sent pieces into the engine destroying both.

I think I may be able to get a brand new turbo for it, I'll need to check.
