There are a lot of knowledgable people on this site, so I thought someone might know the answer. My cousin and I inherited my uncles"s farm and equipment here in western Ohio. We will be receiving it from a trust. In order to complete the tax paperwork for inhertitence taxes, we need to put a "Fair Market Value" on the equipment. If there is something like the blue book for farm machinery, it would be a great resource. Thank you very much for your responses.

Check out Successful Farming's "Rust Book" by Machinery Pete also. It has Tractors, Combines, Hay Balers, Cotton Pickers, Corn Pickers, Planters, Drills, Crawlers, and Trucks. Auction prices and serial numbers.

The other guides mentioned will work well but most auctioneers are appraisers or implement dealers or your bank will have at least one appraiser also if it has to look official.

I moved everything off to a neighbors place then have what's left appraised. Why pay more taxes than you have too.
But if you must then get this book "Hotline antique Tractor guide". 1-800-673-4763

For your purposes, a blue book may not be considered accurate enough. You may need a set of prices from a certified appraiser. Sometimes auctioneers offer that service.

There is the Hot Line Farm Equipment Guide.

It does about the same as the Kelly blue book.

Heres a phone number 800-247-2000.

The Hotline Farm Equipment Guide is a pretty good guide. They have a reqular guide and an antique guide. Click on publications.
I&T (Intertec) also publishes a price guide.
