A man was killed near here when his John Deere G flipped with him. I heard it on the scanner. Apparently he was bush hogging a pond bank and it was too steep. Just reminds me that as much as I love old iron it is extremely dangerous. Pray for his family. He was 42.

Why don't you setup a Paypal account that we can donate money to. You can give it to the family i'm sure that anything like that would come in very handy right now.

Very tragic. Now the family has to pick up the pieces while looking through tears. I was about 14 when I helped carry a man out of the road ditch after he rolled his tractor. That was over forty years ago and I have never forgotten the feelings I had at that time. I did not know this man, but it really shook me up. I can't imagine what it would feel like to find my dad under a tractor. I hope the family can get the emotional support they need. Jim

That's terrible! I'm sorry to hear, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I can't imagine what they are going through.

I just found out that his 13 year old son was the one who found him. Especially remember the boy. That is something he will have to live with for the rest of his life. May God give him strength.

I was 14 when I found my dad dead behind the tractor in the field. Heart attack.

My youngest son, aged 45 or so, took up with a lady who owns a small, rather hilly farm north of Pittsburgh. They have a small farm tractor, and i keep warning him about how those tractors will jump on and trample the unwary, especially city boys turned farmer! But, being that he knows it all, my warnings are met with: "Oh, Pop, you worry too much!" Yeah, i worry!! This after being out with the Fire Company on several farm tractor executions of local farmers! Not fun! Rustyj
