I read the posts on the subject and really felt compelled to set the record straight. The thing about boards like this is anybody can spread any thing and seldom be called on it.

Here are the facts regarding funding for the vets.

May I kick in a little bit. Let us hope the Fred Thomas runs! He played the captain of the aircraft carrier in Hunt for red october. If you look him up on the net and find the Bio page he has done more than I could in about 15 life times! Our government is so broken I just sit and cry! My $.o2

I think that those us us who don't find our names on the Wall alongside those we knew and are endurring this ongoing of or kids and brothers' nephews are to be driven down. One way or another we are to expire. That case o' beer is not just a joke. I've seen the red eyes of Soldiers getting ready to go back to Iraq and these young strong persons.. They were not red eyed from beer,so strange they are in a store and everybody but this old fart is a foreigner. They or one may ask a simple question and then it's what the.. where the heck went America and certainly most there don't even know what is going on or why this "cult of servicemen" is better than nationalities with there own deal passing thru. I could scream. I could make a scene. I can only observe now and see that when it doesn't just hit our heroes but the b888std@ds rain hell upon all this simple populace once again there may be a major reset to their clock.
Meanwhile that slimeball Schumer and Rosy can parlay their hatred of the present Administration on national broadcasts to simple fools and unfortunately women who suck this up. Folks who think this all goes away when you change the channel. Folks who think Walter Reed wasn't falling apart during 'Nam. Those who don't know that abuse of our Vets went on long before. Those who would never believe in the improvements anyway and those who elect slime.

Ya in black and white it looks good but for the most part we VET get screwed in the long run. Yes I'm a D.A.V and I see it all the time. I'm lucky to get in once a year and then they take 6 months to get me an appointment and thats if I'm lucky

"On February 6, 2006, the Bush Administration released its federal budget for FY 2007, which begins on October 1, 2006. On February 8, 2006, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary R. James Nicholson testified before the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs concerning the President’s budget request for the VA. The Administration requested an increase totaling $3.4 billion for VA medical care. "
