the serial #'s seem to be low like u said it was bought new from dealer but he doesnt remember much about what was told back then.. was changed over to a reveresed sweep then the paint started peeling off hood & had lots of white all over rest of tractor now ... so anyway ... if its a true demonstrator tractor do i restore it or sell it to a person who would like it more ? & just stick with ugly red when i find another one ..lol

Hey Roger. That is entirly up to you. If it were mine, and was a demo I would restore it. They don't make em anymore you know. If I wanted a red one I would get one of those to. I have a early 50 cub, but it was red when it was new. My grandfather bought it new. We use to haul it from farm to farm in a pick up truck to cultivate tobacco. Fix that thing and take it to the shows. A lot of folks paint them white regardless of original color and try to pass them off as demo's Some even paint Ms white and there was no demo Ms. I seen a ad on the classified's someone was looking for early serial tag for a Cub claims his is a demo. It may or may not be.

The following information was copied from a post on the Farmall Board. This post was listed by "CNKS”, he does seem to know a lot about these tractors:

"The serial numbers from the 1st quarter of 1950 when the white C's were produced: 47010 - 54411. At that time IH did not use primer, but hard telling what has been done to it since then. Some tractors did have a whte sealer on the cast parts, in case there was a leak or a seep".

If it fell within that number range and I owned it I belive that I would restore it and paint it white. You don't seem to see many of them at shows in my neck of the woods.
