I was plowing snow this morning at a multi-tennant office plaza. I noticed something i never seen before. It seemed that 3 of the lawyers offices in that complex were actually Macomb County Judges. Now I got to thinking ...there arent too many lawyers out there that are honest. How can they get a position such as that...it doesnt seem right. You would think their opinions are swayed by other lawyer friends that appear before them. Thats not justice ...Is it?

Not only are they in the less than honest courts, they are in the legislature so they make the laws that we can't follow and they leave unknown loop holes so they don't have to follow them.

Do you live in Macomb county? I lived there 23 years, until I moved to Oakland county. Where were you plowing snow? As far as judges and lawyers go, We live in a country where justice is served best to the ones with the most money. Just ask O.J.

No. I,m a St.Clair Co. Boy. The tractor shop and sales lot, and greenhouses are in China, and my little 136yr old farm where I live is two miles down the road.

'Round here the judges are all appointed by the governor through a merit selection process and are required to be licensed in the state and members of the bar. I'd be more suspicious of favoritism/cronyism showing up in the "good ole boy" election process than I am of the way it's done in Iowa.

Hey Tuke, Believe me, I hear ya and Ive often thought the same lol. Im kind of an outsider Maverick semi retired "Country Lawyer" (I had a "Real Life" first as an Engineer n Farmer long before law school) and I know some of our local Judges fairly well. However, Im NOT in the In Crowd who plays golf n drinks cocktails with any of them. I've still felt I got a fair shake when before them and from the results (won some lost some) it didnt seem to matter that they knew me. Of course, I cant speak for anyone else or their situations or opinions.

Good topic, best wishes n God Bless yall

John T (Country Lawyer n retired Engineer)

I'm going through that now.My sister passed away last august,6 months before she died she fired her attourney and requested her will back. The fired lawyer wrote a letter stating he didn't have her will. After she died he submitted the will to the court. He was then representing the step children mentioned in the will.

How many lawyers does it take to grease a combine?

One if you run him through real slow.

Know the difference between an attorney dead in the middle of the road and a skunk dead in the middle of the road?

you can see skid marks where they tried to dodge the skunk!

Why wont a snake bite an attorney? Professional courtesy.
