Hey Guys,

I just bought a home on 12 acres (5 to mow) - I'm having a Ford 600 completely rebuilt for the mowing. My question is on the mower - I want to get a 6ft King Kutter rear discharge finish mower - I know the horsepower rating on a 600 is 30-35 H/P - The mower states it has a 40hp gearbox - Will the 600 be able to run this mower? I also read a rear discharge mower SUCKS horsepower - HELP !! Does the tractor have the power?

That 40hp gearbox rating is MAX input hp.. as in.. don't feed it any more than 40 or you may be able to damage it easier than normal.

A rebuilt 600 should spin a 5' mower just fine.

A 660 will be the best since it will have live pto and 5 spd tranny.

A 650 is next best, with 5 spd tranny.. but you will need an ORC for the pto.

640 is ok .. 4 spd tranny, and again.. needs the ORC for the pto.
