Finally got power back yesterday afternoon. Ice storm took lines down last Saturday about 2 pm. That was one loooong week. Did get the generator going Sunday so we had some heat and ran fridge some. Generator only has 1 gal tank, ran 2 hrs and then fill up. Wed I pulled 400 up beside genny and ran a gas line to carb from 400 tank and then let it run all the time we were home. Went to neighbors and got buckets of water to flush potty. Last night took a LONG HOT shower and washed clothes, had a HOT supper and relaxed. Hope I don't have to do that again, but if I find a bigger generator cheap, I'm gonna get it. Chris

Hi Super, how much does a 15kw pto generator run for in your area?About 6-1200 bucks up here for a used one in good running condition.A 15 kw would probably run your whole house no problem and only require 30 hp at max output.phill.

Had never looked at them before, thot a little one was enough but after this I will be looking as soon as I can get some extra $$$. Saw a little bigger one, think it was a 22kw in the paper for about $1000. May never need it again, but would feel better if I had one. Chris

Welcome back to the civilized world or is this an uncivilized world.

We were out for 2 1/2 days and that was enough for me.My wife told me Monday evening that this is the last nite she can take of this.Good thing the power came back on about 3 hours after that or I don't know what she was gonna do.

Where are you located?

Gary
