The conditions here in Omaha are terrible. I've got drifts around 6 feet deep. People are getting stuck everywhere too. How are the conditions else where?

In eastern Iowa the wind is really cranking with gusts of 50-60 mph. After an inch of rain on the frozen ground early AM water is running EVERYWHERE. Right now we are getting sleet/snow. Were without power 52 hours after last Saturdays ice storm, longest ever for us.

250 miles east of you, about an hour north of Ia
Gary. 30 degrees at 9:30 PM CST and just a light layer of new snow after intermittent rain most of the day. Sounds like we may get a couple of inches of new snow before it's done.

It is amazing, Interstate highways, 80, 29, and 35 are closed, a city of a quarter million is shut down, the national news took 5 seconds to mention a snowstorm across the midwest.

Re: Weather in midmichigan- Thunder ice!!! in reply to Cory A., 03-01-2007 12:42:33
Here in michigan we have a hard sleety rain coming down and it is thundering and lightning out. I was plowing snow and decided to hang it up after a few of them bolts lit up the entire area around me and sounded like a bombing range. I just want the power to stay on. Later.

The run off ditch that goes across the back of our field is frozen and has jumped it banks. All the run-off is now going through the best pasture. :(

The problem is that we're having rain on top of ground that has only barely started to un-freeze. That's always the recipe for a flood, in my experience.

Here by Ia City it rained till about an hour ago.

Now it is snowing but just barly has the ground white cause of the warm rain on the ground.

Still says 33 degrees here.

Here in South Central Michigan it"s just a nasty wet 35F. More rain tonight, and snow is melting into a huge mudhole. Just what I love. Ha, Ha.

Re: Weather in Scotland in reply to Cory A., 03-01-2007 12:42:33
Hi Guys Looks like your getting some interesting weather out there. Her in Scotland it is just cold wet and sometimes misty. We often get snow around now but none as yet. Our roads are easily block as they are a fraction of the widths you have so everything comes to a stand still. Lets just look forward to the spring/summer.

Cory

Snowing like crazy in SWMN, have about 14" on the ground with more on the way. Wind is gusting about 30mph. Wife is staying in town so I cleaned about a foot off the drive and put the tractor in her stall in the garage.

Lake of the ozarks area of Missouri is windy gust up around 30 or so but thats about it. Its probably about 45 or so out. Rained hard last night and had reports of tornados in the area but we didn't see or have damage from any of them

I don't know how deep the drifts are here. With these white-out blizzard conditions, I can't see that far.

No snow here in Northern Illinois, but lots and lots of rain and wind. See my above post for the lots and lots of rain part. Stay safe out there Cory.
