Thanks,

Allan

ALLEN,HOW COME YOU USE THOSE BIG ,HEAVY GRAPPLES,INSTEAD OF FRONT LOADER HAY SPEARS?THE SPEAR IS MUCH,MUCH LIGHTER AND MORE MANUVERABLE.THATS ALL EVERYONE AROUND HERE USES TO STACK AND LOAD.ALSO IN THE MUD, A LOT OF GUYS ARE USING 4 WHEEL DRIVES NOW.

Hi Mark,

I use a loader for a heck of a lot more than just handling hay bales and afraid a spear would just not get used much around here. Couldn't be without the darned thing to use for this job or that and a loader wouldn't be much of a tool for me without that extra "thumb". Force of habit I guess.

Dunno, just never had the need for a 4X4 or it's outlandish cost either. :>)

I don't know what you guys are trying to push but I got a rear stabber on that 1086 that carries a bale when it is slick.

But when conditions are dry there is no weight in the back of that 1086.

That 1066 I just bought with 3 sets of weights will be heavier on the back then my 1086. And I'm not going to add any weight to the 1066.

When the going gets slick I just pick a bale on the back and don't have all that extra weight the rest of the year.

How about antifreeze in those tires, never tried it but they say it will get you the weight but wont damage the wheels like calisum(spelling) does???

In the winter my "dorf" TA46 is on the 756 with a 1300 Hiniker cab 2 sets of weights each side and axel hubs, sometimes a snowblower. Summer it's on the 560 with 4 sets of weights on each side plus loaded 15.5. the back end of the 560 weighs 7400 lbs. never weighed the 756.

This tractor used to be our sprayer tractor so we sucked the fluid out of it to keep it light and now it's too light to do any kind of heavy loader work. It's got two sets of wheel weights on it right now and I think it's going to get at least two more sets and maybe a good heavy 3pt quick hitch to get some more weight on the back. It really needs the weight of having fluid but we've had to replace enough rims due to fluid damage that putting fluid back in any tire will be a last resort for us. The way it is it seems to get around decent when going forward but on snow or any other slick condition it won't hardly back up at all. I've been running about 1,200lbs on the 3pt which helps alot but I may rebuild my counter weight so it will hold 20 weights instead of 10 which would help alot.

Allan

If its weight you want on the back with a load out front, just pick up a bale on the back. Our 2wd loader tractor has fluid and weights and still needs more rear weight lots of times.

Our 1256 has loaded rears and one set of half-moon weights on each side. It's almost helpless in the mud with a bale up front, worse in the ice and snow.

Do you have a 3-point? A bale fork works great on the 3-point with a loader up front, you can pick up weight or drop it off when you don't need it.

Okay, Hold the phone.

Just as soon as I get this darned thing all set up, I've decided that I'm gonna try and see if I can peddle it to Gary over in Iowa.

Darned front hangers! Thing looks way too heavy anyhoo! :>)

If I remember when I get home I think I have some pictures of our 1256 with a 235 Farmhand on it. Handy outfit, just the right size to get in and out of corrals and handle those big bales!

Boy!

They are a beefy outfit!

Looks to me like they are an oversized F-11 in a front mount configuration.

Allen LOAD THEM TO THE GILLS.

On our 186 tires full and 3 sets of weights.
On our 1086 same thing. But if you are going to just lift one 1000 lb bale just fill them.

Yeah,

That's kinda what I figured; tractor has two sets on it now. Darned front hangers, anyway!

Don't wanna flip 'er over on her nose and have it pawin' uselessly at the air! :>)

Allen it is a good loader. Like I said I have had that loader on 4 tractors and yes that bucket is heavy. If that loader worked on a 656 hydro hauling 3 bales, 2 on the front and one on the 3 point stacking 400 bales a week. With a bucket like your f11 has. Some times its just better to have some weight back there.

Don't give up. That loader is one of the best I have used. It is a little heavy but they take a lot of abuse...

Did your 656 hydro take a different set of side irons?

I originally wanted to mount this thing on my little hydro also, but it looked as though I'd have to drill the frame rails. Didn't wanna do that very darned bad.

I also am thinking about using that little grapple head off the F-11. That would really lighten the old bear up.

We have loaded/unloaded two bales at a time with ours and never broken anything, our bales weigh in around 1200 lbs or so (CIH 3650 soft-core baler).

Tractor rims/hubs/front end is the weak link so far... :o)
