I see we had a lot of opinions on the JD Dealer Noservice line. Now let me say we have a Vermeer dealer that is 90 miles away. In the 27 years of owning Vermeer balers we have NEVER heard it will be here tomorrow for parts. We had a major break down a couple years back in the mid afternoon called the dealer and he said bring the baler in and you'll be running by noon the next day. My custom baling customers depend on that dealer as much as I do. Another instance is an AGCO dealer that is 30 miles away. Blew a hydraulic leak on my skid loader last week and just didn't have time to hassle with it. We use the skid 4 hours a day for feeding and it is critical. I got the parts man on the phone and the first words out oh his mouth" May we bring you a loaner while we fix it" What a relief and what a way to get a loyal customer. The parts man cared.
As with any business the person the greets the public is the lifeline to a profitable business

Not quite sure what this is about, but if you want to rag on JD for lack of parts and service,I could tell you stories all day. We were all JD at one time back in the 80s when we had a good local dealer. Deere forced them out because they weren't on their MASTER PLAN. We had to go to the next nearest dealer 40 miles away. I got REAL TIRED real soon of being treated like a red headed ba***rd step child. I waited five days once for parts for a hydra push manure spreader when we had dairy cows in a stanchion barn. They absolutely refused to drop ship parts from the warehouse, not oversized or anything, gearbox parts. I tried to order parts for a 700 grinder and was told by the parts manager "just keep doing what you've been doing" and he wasn't trying to be funny. That incident was the last straw after endless agrivation with Deere. Don't say find a different dealer,I've tried the one 40 miles in the other direction too. It's the whole attitude,We're Deere and we don't have to. Where else are you going to go? I'll tell you where we went,to Agco. They want our business, drop ship from the warehouse, bend over backwards to keep us going. We have one Deere tractor left and 2 pieces of equipment and they WILL be replaced with whatever we can get parts and servive on from our Agco dealer.

We have an excellent Case-IH dealer in Exeter, there is a regional warehouse in Toronto and even the hardest to find part is there the next working day. These folks have dug out the old microfiche machine on more than one occasion to find an old or obsolete part. They staff Saturdays and Sundays during harvest, will meet you at the shop if you need a part after hours.I don't hear complaints about them. I do however have a friend who works there that says many screw ups in parts are the result of the customer giving a wrong part number or description of a part over the phone and upon arrival discover the wrong part waiting..they do their job at their end. I have always been satisfied with their efforts. Another dealer CGFarm Supply in Zurich has excellent service, they have even opened for me on a Sunday when I ran out of twine, friendly and willing to help. I always maintain it is people that make that difference and a company should make every employee aware that their job is service or they won't have a job!
