Hello all,

I recently acquired a Rounder skidloader with a stuck Wisconsin 30 horsepower 4 cylinder motor. Is there any info on new/rebuilt motors, or any place where parts could be acquired? Or is it worth rebuilding?

One other problem you might have is stuck valves. I've several of them with that problem.

About two months ago I sold a 30 hp VH4D, completely rebuilt, for about $700. Parts came from NAPA. Some area papers advertise rebuilds for $950-1100. Try unsticking it first, like old says. Nothing to lose by trying. Oil is always cheaper than parts.

Shoot you might not even need to open it up to get it running if its stuck from sitting. Fill the cylinders with tranny fluid and let it sit a few days. Then pull the plugs out and set a battery in it and hit the starter, do short fast hits on the starter you might get it freed up doing that. I have done that with more then 10 tractors and all but one didn't pop loose and the ones that did now run great and don't even smoke.
