Hi Gang;
Thanks for your responses and advice.
Firstly MF changed models numbers frequently & upgraded tractors. I have found out today that the MF350 was 3 cyl Perkins 152 non turbo at 48HP gross & the Mf360 was same engine with turbo at 60HP gross.
Then they made 342 non turbo 48HP, 352 turbo 52HP, then the 362 was 4 cyl non turbo (VERY good tractor and commands premium prices here).
The 350 seller called me today again, he paid $17350 + $120 for (missing drawbar). Ive offered $16500. He will take $16950.
The killer for me is that its about 180 miles away and will cost me $500 in haulage charges.

So the downside is that its only 48HP, which is low to drive a cabbed tractor & wet brakes rear axle. The upside is a high specification cab with heater, radio, and syncromesh on 3rd & 4th gears which is great for roadwork.

What are your thoughts? All suggestions welcome.

Cheers David

Try to get the seller to split the cost of transporting it if he won't sell it for $16,950 including shipping it to you. Dave

Don't spend $500. hauling it.Drive it home.Take 2 days if you like.You have such beautiful scenery there why not enjoy it at a liesurely pace.I have a freind that drove a tractor to Nebraska and back to Michigan.Another trip to Texas up to Nebraska and back to Michigan.He says it's the best way to see the countryside.For Allan,his son farms and milks cows near Broken Bow Nebraska.Mark

I have not had an ocean between me and a tractor deal. Always another deal down the road is my theory. Looking at the slop of you fields would have me rethink the issue. This is a buy it and love it tractor no come back soooo.

David. Enjoy your posts and pics.

You are are a better of prices there than I am, but a low hours tractor with a good pedigree is hard to resist. If the condition checks out it is worth more.

BTW, I notice that one and other British tractors that make it over here don't have air conditioning, just a door in the roof for ventilation. Weather must really be cool in the summer there. Cab no air here in the southeast US equals steam bath,

if you want it and have the money then buy it. You don't have to explain it to any body.

David, I enjoy seeing your posts, your pictures, and hearing your thoughts. I've often thought that the best deal for anything is one that I can live with. If I really want an item, I might pay more for it than someone else would. So what? If I wanted it, maybe it's worth more to me than the next person. Value is a relative thing. I'd say if you think it's a fair price, buy it and enjoy the tractor. That would be especially true if you're certain you will not find another in this condition. Just my opinion.

David, buy it! Based upon all your posts, I believe you really want this tractor, so go for it! Sometimes you have to pay a little extra for the nice things you want.
