Hi Gang;
Several of you have asked how to find my place using Google Earth.
In in top lefthand "search" box enter :-

SA42 0SU (type zero NOT capital O)

This should show you a small Y shaped road off to right of Feidr Fawr road. We live at the furthest corner of this lane (its only 100 yards long).

Move north and you will see Dinas Island headland which is connected to the mainland by that dark brown strip (marshy istmus). Dinas Island farm is on that headland where the photos were taken a few days ago.

Move west (left) and follow the coastline around and you will come to 3 islands. 1st is Ramsey, 2nd is Skomer (photo posted yesterday) you will see the exact spot where I was standing. The last smaller island is Skokholm.

If you follow the coast further you will come into Milford Haven which is the huge harbour. You will see how big this by panning out.

You may have to pan out to get a clearer view of the area.

Have fun guys. Cheers David

I looked at your local area and have been comparing your pics to the map. I would like to see a more detailed sattelite image on Google, but I can manage. Cilgerran Castle looks neat. There is a link to a pic there. I checked out the port at Dover where we departed for France and Calais where we landed back in 1998. This led to a brief view of the Cherbourg Peninsula and the beaches of Normandy. The pictures of the area look so serene and peaceful. Now.

Thanks for the 10 minute vacation. Never even had to leave the house.

Cheers,

Aaron

Hi David,
Now I feel like I've been there. Be warned, now that you've given everyone directions to your home you will are likely to be overrun by a bunch of YT members suffering from cabin fever and just wanting to see something green. If you hear a knock at the door don't answer. I missed my chance to isit the UK. My daughter spent a semester of college at Oxford and my wife and I considered going to visit her. After the term was over she spent a couple weeks touring England and Scotland. She had wanted to get to Wales but it didn't fit into her schedule. Beautiful pictures, keep them coming.
Phil

enter: 14125 fishback rd. monmouth, OR

To see my farm. Its the clear piece of land between the three roads on the North, west and south. there is a small 1/2 acre on the NW corner that belongs to the neighbor who is a descendant of the original DLC owner in 1875. My house was built in 1971. On the SW corner there is 6 acre plot that has been sold off.

originally the place was 320 acres plus 640 to the south, wish I owned all that now. That is my big barn right in the middle the house is hidden in the tree to the SW of the barn. Walt

I looked both farms up. Very interesting. I live in Ky and went to Oregon 3 years ago but I've never been to Wales. I may come over to see you but would br afraid I may slip over one of those cliffs.Keep those pictures coming.
