Need a GN installed. Want one that retracts, turns over, flips-up/down, or flips over. Dealer I called only handles one style that folds up and down with a cover plate.
Should I be happy with any of these or are some types to be avoided?
Thanks in advance.

Another vote for a B&W turnover ball. I installed mine myself, only complaint I had was having to spend $30 for a 4" hole saw. I suppose I could have cut the hole by hand if I had a little more patience. Bolted right up, didn't have to do any drilling except the holes in the bed for the ball & u-bolts that safety chains hook to.

You can also buy an RV fifth wheel hitch that drops down into the mount for the turnover ball. Kind of expensive, but you don't have to cut any more holes to have a 5th wheel hitch as well.

I second all the B & W opinions. When you dont need it you never know its there.

I had my B&W installed at Cliffs Truck Parts in Des Moines. After seeing how it was done, I probably could have done it myself. I think you can buy them on e-bay. For sure go with a B&W, they are a lot more heavy duty and fool proof than some others I have seen.

Those B & W hitches are nice ! Easy to install yourself too. The only thing I didn't like was the cheap hardware store bolts and washers that came with it to bolt it in. I got some truck frame bolts and nuts that are flanged and heavy graded and used them.

I'm not sure where you are in Iowa but there is a body shop in Cantril that sells the B&W turnover ball's for $299 and I haven't seen anywhere else even close to that price. Their number is 319-397-2406.

Get a B&W, you won't be sorry.

Don't settle for anything other than a B&W Turnover ball! The best there is. All the others are copies or imitators! That would be my opinion!

I saw a truck that had been rear ended while towing a trailer when I got mine installed. The only straight part of that truck frame was the B&W hitch.
