Hello all, I'm new to the forum and new to the tractor world. I just picked up my first tractor. 1952 8N with a sherman trans. Older restoration. All it needed was a rear tire. It came with a rear blade and a Brush Hog. I'll be getting a bucket from a friend later. I will need a few small things that were stolen while it sat at the dealer. Radiator cap, Intake air vent cover, PTO cover. Other than that it runs really good. Hope to get some good advise from you guys. Will post a pic after some one explains that to me. Have a great day.
Mike

as a long time Ford tractor owner and operator I would strongly suggest you get a front axle mounted bumper installed. these low slung tractors are designed as such that the grill and radiator stick out front in an unprorected position making them very vulnerable. also the bumper is nice to keep a logchain wrapped on in case you need it. some times it comes in handy for giving something a push. i put a bumper on my 2N the day I got it so long ago. best wishes and good tractorin"

Mike,

You may not realise it just yet, but you just fell into the best community of human beings you'll ever want to associate with. ALL of us will help in any way we can to see that you 'N'joy your tractor and the company you'll discover as you learn about: (#1) SAFETY, (#2) Usefulness/workability, (#3) Economy, and (#4) Satisfaction/fun. These tractors were designed to be used and maintained by 'horse farmers'. Anyone smart enough to get thru High School can do well by them.

Welcome and have SAFE fun,

jim

Congratulations. That's a pretty little tractor, real straight looking too. Another suggestion to add to the other excellent ones just given - if you don't have one, get a shop manual for it. I believe they may sell them here even.

Enjoy and welcome to the forum.

Hi, congrats on the new tractor. If you are all new to this hobby/work the first thing you want to get for that new ford is a p.t.o. clutch. It is alot nicer to brushhog with, especially if you are new to this stuff. Dave

Your comment gave me a good laugh this morning. It is a beehive isn't it? It is also colorful and entertaining. I am fairly new to these sites and I find Yesterday's Tractors website to be the best of the ones I have visited.
