Hi Gang;
Off the southwest tip of Wales are three small islands which were farmed until about 50 years ago. Originally privately owned, in recent years the owners have "given" them to the Nation to become wildlife & bird sanctuaries, managed by local naturalist trusts.
This is SKOMER ISLAND, about 1 mile off shore. The strip of water is the Jack Sound, one of the most dangerous channels of water in the World. You can see the rip-tide running to the left of me and this is "calm water time".
Cheers David

Dave, i'll be darned if the owner of that Island once used to travel to it via a canoe. That rip-tide would make for an interesting trip, mate.

Great photo"s Dave. I really enjoy seeing how farming is done in other parts of the world. Have some good friends in Bath, England.

From the picture it looks like you could skip a rock to the island. It`s a cool perspective how when something is set in the ocean like that with no land on the horizon behind it, distance seems so skewed. Are you sure you aren`t part of some secret british agency in charge of making the rest of the world want to move to the UK???
As always, great picture
