I have an all-fuel 520 that has yellow letters and numbers and all green paint, no yellow paint like a John Deere 50. Are all the all-fuel tractors painted this way? Were all the 520 tractors painted green and yellow?

Thanks
CH

Wasn't the 520 painted green then a large yellow decal with lettering and numbering placed on the tractor, not paint, or was that only the 30 series? I think both the 20 and 30 series used decals but I may be wrong. I have seen 30 series that the yellow decal had faded completely away leaving the tractor all green. 20 series could be same way.

Dear Cheryl,
520s rather gas, LP or all fuel all have the same paint scheme of yellow sides. Their is no yellow on a 50 except the wheels.

What do you make of this? I have a 520 serial # 5204039 with yellow decals like a 50 and no yellow paint on the hood; it's all green. It has never been painted.

hey bud, the yellow on it faded out. It used to be a decal. I have a 520 all-fule. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ALL-GREEN 520

The John Deere letters and the decal "520" are definitely yellow with a black outline (same letter style as the 50)but everything else is green. If there had been a yellow decal, then wouldn't the letters have been green? (similar to an early 530). No other signs of yellow paint or decals anywhere. This tractor came from Alabama; I am the second owner.

Also would like to know if all-fuel 520 pistons are shorter than gas pistons.

All 520s had yellow on center of side of hood and front side panel and green letters or numbers on side. 520 was made 1956-58 and yours is 1957 year model.
