Hello All, I know this is OT but I need some advice. After 17 years in the Machine shop/Welding Trade I developed some health problems and needed to get out. To make a long story short I ended up starting a Photo studio business that has outgrown my house and garage. I have room for a new 30x70 building that will be a small beauty shop for my wife, sales room, and studio room, so it will be drywalled and finished. I am looking at morton pole buildings, (engineered wood truss) which have come a long way since the early days and are pretty nice,.. and the steel truss style structure steel building. With the Morton it will come already stripped out and ready for drywall with flat ceiling. The walls will be insulated before morton strips it, but I will have to insulate the ceiling after the drywall installed. (blow in) I will just need to stud in the interior walls. The Morton contractor is local and has done a dozens of buildings in the area is has an excellent reputation. The Steel Truss building I think is a better structure overall, will already be fully insulated, but a lot more work to finish out the interior. It is also locally manufactured in Pittsburgh. I just need to find an local installer. The other problem is I want drywall ceilings through out, not hanging type ceilings, So I will have to almost have to build a building within a building to accomplish this I think. The building mfgs don't want anything heavy like a wood ceiling frame hanging from the structure. I am also thinking about building it 16ft high inside to make ( part )of the building have a second floor. This will be fine over the beauty shop and the sales room, but then the studio will have a 16ft high ceiling which is to high. 12 is all I need. It has also occurred to me to just make the whole building 12 ft and use some type of an attic truss for an upstairs. Anybody got any advice?
