My buddy has a Montana dealership and one his customers had a clutch go out due to a bad disc. Jim went to the guy's place, picked it up, took it to the shop and tore it down. He called Montana and they sent the parts he needed. It was fixed and returned to the owner. The customer was without his tractor for 5 days ..... not bad.

goodrnner,

My understanding of Montana's is that they are assembled in America (Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas - somewhere in the mid-west) primarily, but not exclusively from parts that are imported from Korea. I think they also get parts from India and China. There's a local dealer here in Columbia, TN that has a whole line of them. He's selling them at a pretty good rate, but I don't personally know anyone who has bought one.

They are made in Korea by LG/GoldStar. Same company that makes LG cellphones, as well as some big industrial machinery. I have never had any experiences with them, but I would think they quite a cut above the Chinese tractors.

From what I have seen of them the smaller compact type are made by LG of Korea and the larger utility types are the old Long tractors. I was looking at them at the Sunbelt expo and the Montana man said that the larger ones were the older Long model that was made in Romania I think. The fit and finish of the Korean made ones were much better looking than the Long clone.
