belt pully installation on a Farmall

I have a 400 diesel and wanting to put a belt pully and drive off a 450 gas. what do i need to know before i get started with this project? is the drive gear already in my 400 to drive the unit? and also the guy wants to know what a fair price would be for the drive and pully.

I sold a belt drive assy.a year or so ago for $35.00 on Ebay .Interestingly it cost $135.00 to ship it to Calif. from Ill.

The drive gear is already in your tractor. Only the utility models from that period delete the gear. You probably have the big gas tank so you might have to raise it to slide in the gearbox. Add a quart of oil thru the pipe plug on top.

Price depends on condition of the paper pulley. If it is OK. I would offer $75, as a fair price, for everything including engagement rod.
