Farmall Cubs are POSITIVELY GROUNDED!!!! The way that you had the positive cable going to ground is 100% ORIGINAL!! You will mess up your generator and voltage regulator by having it hooked up the other way around!

I wanted to tell you this because in your other post, you were confused by the other people! You need to put that cable that goes to the ground BACK on the POSITIVE lead!!

Thanks, dds. It took a while to sink into this thick skull of mine, but I think I now understand most of the 6-volt, positive-ground concept.

It was very counter-intuitive for someone raised on 12-volt, negative-ground systems. :)

I guess I just found it all very counter-intuitive at first. :)

dds,

What was there in the other thread to confuse him?

I don't see where he was told to reverse his battery cables away from the (+) ground setup his cub is supposed to have.

And, many of us told himit was unnecessary to disconnect the battery, at all, thereby avoiding the problem altogether!
