I am writing this by memory as I cannot find my reference books.

The rear end of the tractor may be an open design. That means that if one wheel meets resistance, the power is sent to the opposite wheel. Most tractors are of this design. Braking the spinning wheel will send the power back to the one that is not spinning.

A differential lock (if equipped) will also prevent this, but will also prevent any future steering corrections. With both rear tires locked together, the tractor will go straight. If equipped, there will be a pedal on the right side under the hydraulic controls that comes from the rear axle.

A MF34 loader on a MF202 is a common combination. The 202 is a Utility version of a MF50. Here are a list of dates that these models were produced.

MF202 1956-64
MF202 INDUSTRIAL 1958-67
MF203 1961-67
MF204 1959-67
MF205 1978-85
MF205 INDUSTRIAL 1961-69

If you have a serial number, the year should be easy to work out. Or look at the right side tranny case for a sequence of three numbers, mine is 12 9 8. This means 12 Sept 1958. The date that the tranny was cast. The year should be within 6 months of this date. Mine was cast in 1958, the tractor is a 1959. Hope this helps,

Aaron

I swear man that is one reason two wheel drive tractors have individual brakes man, whatever wheel is spinning apply enough pressure to that brake pedal to limit the spinning and help the wheel with better traction carry you through. I gotta go, that dork Randy is on my back again
