Hi Folks,
I live in S.E. Pennsylvania and go to quite a few shows in PA, have been out to Iowa and have been impressed with the diversification of equipment at the MidWest Shows. Where do you guys (and gals) feel the best all around one - stop show is in the United States?

I hope to plan a family vacation to this show....whereever it is.

Thanks for your input.

Good show at Thresher's Reunion in Denton, N.C. every year during the 4thof July week. Not far from the N.C. State Zoo. Good area for vacation!

I realize you are from that area but me and my fiance were down there last summer and I sure was not amused by the $12.00 per person admission price and then they had the balls to want to charge $5.00 for the train ride. So far the best show I have been to is the one at Rollag, Mn. the prices are reasonable and the amount of equipment just blows everybody else away. Right now I am planning on trying to get to Kinzers, Pa this year and see how it rates. I gotta go

I gotta agree on the Albert City show. Lots of stuff to look at and the live demonstrations go on all day long. The grounds are small enough that you can easily walk and see it all. The Mount Pleasant, Ia show is super also, but it takes a bit more walking to see it all. Either show is well worth seeing.

Hi folks. I second that on Albert City. It's a good show and has about everything. Main thing for me is that it is closer than the bigger shows, and no motel bills.

Peat

Not to change the subject, but I live in Northern NJ and would be interested to hear about the shows you mentioned and might recommend in eastern PA. Thanks.

The one show that I would say would be the Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant Iowa.

Labor Day weekend.

Activities include:

Threshing of course,
Corn shelling with belt drive sheller.
Steam engine powered saw mill.
Tractor pulls
Tractor parades
Steam powered train rides.
Old west town shoot out.
Horse powered sorhgum press.
Country music big name shows.
And there are many more displays.

Google midwest old threshers

Gary, that looks like a heck of a show and might give my pick a run for it's money.

However, my pick would be Western Minnesota Steam Thesher's Reunion. 400 Acres of great tractors.

Steam Tractors
Steam Trains
Gas Tractors
Gas Engines
Stationary Steam Engines
Miniature Land - Scale working steam/gas engines and machines
working Roundhouse & turntable for the trains
Working Steam Shovel
Hot air powered engines
Antique Cars and Trucks
Working antique flour mill (some of the best cracked wheat flour I have ever bought)
Steam Hammer
Log Cabin Museum
Replica pioneer farm with water wheel power
Farming with horses demonstration
Of course Threshing and Plowing
Sawmills
Print Shop
Blacksmith
Prony Brake HP test of gas & steam tracotrs
Pioneer homemaking
Merry Go round
Parades
Tractor Pull
Dances
Live music
The largest engine Allis Chalmers ever built 3 stories tall...

Unfortunately it is the same weekend as your show
