NICE!! My Dad and Granddad were into Allis Chalmers, but Dad just admitted that he would like an M if storage and money were not a problem! Those red tractors dress up real nice! Greg

Hi Gary;
That is a lovely looking "Nasher" now, seems a shame to get it dirty now !!! Your "spanner-man" has done a really good job on it.
Question - why no ROPS ? Over here you cant use any tractor on a farm without cab or ROPS unless its being used within the confines of the farm yard; never in the fields. Since the mid-1970's its been impossible to buy a new tractor without a safety cab or frame; and in recent years only MF230 & some compacts have been available for sale with Rops - used for scraping out manure in low sheds.
Cheers David

So far over here there has been pretty much no regulation of tractor safety systems. The newer tractors of course come with seat belts and ROPS, etc. but there are no laws forcing the addition of such to older tractors.

I hope it doesn't get that way either, we have a lot of older tractors without any of that stuff!

IAGary,
Grinding ear corn for calves or cows?

P.S. I have been following your tractor tale for a long time. Great photos both you and Allan.

You must have a pretty wide mill in the grinder to load the 560! We run our New Holland 352 with the 544 and quite often with one of the H's, even a couple times (slow going) with the A!

Both those tractors look great! If everyone took such good care of their equipment we would never have to restore anything... :o)

New Holland grinders take less power compared to a Gehl. chris

Cause other than grinding in the winter it will set.

And when I need it most in the summer this loader is going on and I can't see up high with a cab on to stack bales in the barn.

I also need that 1086 free during hay baling to spray with.

What you've done for that old tractor is totally awe inspiring.

Taking that weight bracket off made it look like it has just been unloaded off the IH Delivery truck. :>)

Looks good. Wouldn't have ever thought there was ever a cab on it.

In the summer, the only cab you'll have on that tractor is a straw hat.

Looks like the 1066 will power through anything with that grinder. It's really working my 756.

Very very nice and great photos. That makes a pretty nice picture of modern tractors doing kinda of a earlier era farm chore. Can't even think of how many batches of feed I ground and mixed in my day in Iowa. Several times had to run the Nipco heater on the fuel pump to keep from gelling on those rather brisk mornings. Remember the calves and sows runnning and jumping when you turned the feed buckets upside down in the troughs and banged them a little . Best be gettin' out of the way. Migraine
