I have a "54 Case model VA. I am doing some work on it and would like to clean out the water pasages in the engine block. Is there a solution that can be run through it that is safe and still remove the crud build up? Rick

Go to Wally World and ask for Iron Out its comes in a large white plastic bottle and is a powder. I use it on my dishwasher with no problem so its safe to use but will remove old rust right down to the shine.

Put about two cups in the tank and run it hot for about 1 hour then flush to see what it did. It may take another run to get it clean.

Also they a liguid in a little brown bottle called Rust remover that is stronger and will really clean up the rust on anything its left on.

Well if its a running tractor the best thing I have found is vinagar, may take a couple of times of filling it running it then draining and flushing with water but all the tractor I have done that with it has worked well.

How long do you leave the vinager in the engine? How long do you run the engine? I am guessing you use straight vinager without water. Thanks for your reply.

Most of the ones I have done yes 100% vinagar. I run them till good and warm, around and hour or so, most of the time I will go ahead and work them so as to save on gas. Then I let them cool till its safe to drain with out getting burned, then when the engine is real cool I flush it with water. I prefer to do it by back flushing it. I have a thing fixed up so I can hook a garden hose to the block drain and that way it back flushes the engine and cooling system. By the way I made the thing out of pipe and part of an old garden hose
