Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with cheap tractors like jinma, farm pro, nortrac, etc. I need a tractor with a loader for odd jobs around the house and wondered if these tractors are any good Thanks

I agree with all the other posts; stay away from them. Your greatest consideration in buying a new tractor is the dealer. How close are they; do they have a good reputation; have they been around a long time; do they have a well stocked inventory; are they nice folks? The extra price will be worth it. I have two implement dealers nearby. One posts an after hours number on the door and they expand their hours at harvest time. The other does not. My choice was easy.

You meant the Little Yanmars and Mitsubishi tractors? I was looking at the Mitsubishi 4050D at one time but figured I could spend the SAME money on a good Ol amrican Icon Classic and have more than twice the Horse Power and easier to fix abd it would last longer...Nuff said LOL...

There's a website for owners of Chinese tractors, and its just pathetic to see some of the problems they have after just a few hours use, sometimes resulting in junking the machine. I don't have the link anymore, maybe someone else does.

rottiedigo, I have spoken on this subject here on the Boards more than once....in fact my tyrades on these PoS tractors are famous!!!!
The short version is just like the rest.....Run, Run, Run away now! Do not walk, Run Away as Fast as you can.
There is little to no support, NO Dealerships.
All parts have to be ordered. All metric size stuff on it. Lord Forbid if you need repacemet hose bibs to make new hoses. I needed one once for a releatives Agricat 254. The hose maker and I finely had to tear apart a metric tread hose bib to use on a new hose. It was a last resort, I still do not trust that hose.
Ergonomics are out the window...NONE!
3pt either all up or all down, no inbetween
NO Tack, gauges are in Chinese, not english or universal symbols. Just like most other communistic products....Crude, Coarse, Unrefined.
At best these rigs are "Throw Away" Use them till you are done and toss it.
Cheap tractors are Cheap, Not inexpensive. Go look at a Minhindra,Kobota something like that if the main make of tractors are not what you want.
If You Buy a Chinese Tractor..... You'll be Sorry!!
Later,
John A.

Never forget this axiom:

Good stuff ain't cheap, and
Cheap stuff ain't good

Worn out $hit isn't good either and nothing lasts forever without repairs. If you buy an old machine expect to work on it.

If you buy a new quality machine, expect to pay for it..dearly.

Pay a little less and buy a good old one. It won't depreciate and from what I have seen from my MF35 diesel, it will do the job for very little cost and trouble. Just stay out of the mud if you have a loader on the front.

For small odd jobs around the house you could get into a pretty decent Farmall H or M with a loader on it for well under the cost of one of those cheapies... And we know for a fact those were well built, since they are still going after 65+ years! Just my $0.02 worth.

Guy I work with bought a jinma 20 or so horse power with 4 wd. Fer $5995.00, he got a tractor that has broke twice with 14 hours on it. The dealer offered to fix it under warranty IF he'd pay em $500.00 to come pick it up. Both times he it fixed for 400 bucks or so locally. Just before he bought it I offered to sell him a real nice Ford 2000 3 cyl gas for $3500-He said he didn't want some one else's wore out junk.

From what I've seen of his, you could not GIVE me one.

I have a Rhino 224 4wd about 20 hp. Every bolt is a size too small, every casting the bolts go into is too soft. Numerous problems, dealer gone, no warantees, etc,etc,etc--IT JUST AIN'T WORTH IT!

Not directly, but I know of some folks in the area that bought 'em.

You can't get around the fact that you get what you pay for, and there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

All have inferior workmanship and quality, and unless there's a dealer within driving distance with a GOOD reputation for support, you're well advised to stay away from them.

Find a used Kubota or Yanmar in the same price range, you'll be much happier.

I bought a Rhino 40 hp 4wd w/loader. Great tractor if you do your own wrenching. Nobody wants to work on them and they dont know where to get parts. The paint is not the best, the castings are rough, dont have all the electronic gages. But hay its a tractor! I enjoy my old tractors a lot(12 of them) But when you need to get a job done it sure is nice to have live hyd., power steering, live PTO, new brakes, 3 pt. hitch,4 wd, lights that work and a diesel eng. Only buy one if you plan to keep it for ever because resale value is not there. Myself I would stand in line to buy another one. I get parts for my Rhino quicker then I can for a MF or Yanmar through the dealer I use. Del MI
