Can a Behlen power steering pump be used to install live hydraulics on a Farmall H ?

If so would it provide enough oil pressure per minute to operate the power steering and a front end loader, or a three point hitch combo?

A picture of a pump like the one that I am talking about is attached.

I know that it will handle power steering alright, but can it handel other things hooked up to it as well.

Thank You Very Much gots-to-go

The CHEAPEST way to get a tractor with live hydraulics is to buy a tractor already equipped with it. If you really NEED the live hydraulics, trade the H for a 300 (or newer). The marginal difference between the value of an H and the value of a 300 will likely be far less than the value of the time, labor and parts spent trying to retrofit something to a tractor not meant to have it. This idea works for all brands and also is sound advice to those who buy tractors without serial number tags. If you want a tractor with a serial number or with live pto or power steering or live hydraulics---BUY IT EQUIPPED THAT WAY in the first place!

In a word, no. That pump is designed for powersteering only. It is not big enough to run anything else.

Most came with a belly mounted hydraulic system, might be easier to put that on. I have 2 H's here one of my own and one in the shop to be sold. Both have integrated hydraulics. One is a 1944 the other is a 1952. My personal one, we made a 3pt hitch for it and ran it off the belly pump. You can probably find the origional parts pretty cheap. Keep us posted! DTURKE
