Starting the day with +6 here must gonna get hot today.

Reminds me of the time in PE in HS.

Friend and I always wore our long johns and one day on a dare we left them on and put our gym shorts over them cause it was cold in the gym.

We got a good laugh out of everyone. But we were warm.

Gary

One evening last week, I saw a kid on the ISU campus wearing shorts and had no socks showing above his shoe tops. It was about zero at the time. Must have come south from the Yukon or further north.

What about basketball practice? Remember that cold weather? We would have practice at about 6pm after school. Mom would take us up there and we would practice until about 8 and she had to come up and pick up me and my brother. Sometimes (most of the time) the gym was cold and you had to run your guts out and then sometimes stand outside and wait for mom on days like today! I never really thought about it but she probably wasn't to crazy about going out in zero degree weather twice a night to take us there and pick us up. Back in the day before the cell phone was around to so you had better let her know the right time or you would be locked outside waiting with all the other kids that told their mom the wrong time. I was never so glad to sometimes see that old 66 chevy pickup drive up to get us. Those were the good old days.

Mornin' Gary & Allan;
You guys seem to be having a rough time with the snow this winter.
It was raining here on the coast first thing; then light snow which melted when it hit the sodden ground. Its 38F at lunchtime.
Heavy snow for the past two days in mid-Wales, 6 to 8 inches in the hills.
Hav'nt had to get out the long-johns yet but the wind is cold around the legs, wearing "moleskin" heavy cotton pants - jeans not warm enough.
Cheers David

Cold, nasty and snow here for the next 10 days.

Think I'm going into degression. Here it is the middle of February and they'll be farming down in Colorado 'fore long. :>(

First we gotta find the field. Then we gotta plow a road into it.
