First of all, what's a comfort king? Did they make an 830 and 830 comfort king as two seperate models? How were the diesel 830's ok?? Do they start hard? How many cylinders?
thanks guys

The 830 was made 60 to 64 and was a rear seat mount,Eagle hitch,Fuel tank in the hood,301 Diesel,284 gas-LP,65HP with 8 speed or Case A Matic drive. The Comfort King was 65 to 1969 with Mid Seat Mount,Cat.2 Three Point hitch,Rear Fuel tank and both Trans Aval.same engines.Plus a shorter turning Wide front axle. They are as good or better starting engines of that era.

I'm not sure what the Comfort King model is. The diesel is a 4 cylinder 301 c.i. motor that has about 65 PTO hp. They came with either a dual range or a Case-O-Matic transmission. From my experience they are somewhat hard to start, but they always do start. I love the sound of them. I driven both transmission types in high crop models.

I was wrong on the rear fuel tank, they still were under the hood.Case didn't go to the rear tank until the 870s.

We had 2 1965 830 CK's. They had the steps, square fenders etc , but did not have rear fuel tanks. The 930 and 1030 had the rear tanks. I have never seen a 830 with rear tank. They were both 4 cyl. gas and would pull 4/ 16,s anywhere on our farm. They were a long stroke, high torque low rpm engine that would lug down to 1000-1200 rpm and still recover and pull through the tough spots. 1800 rpm was tops. Don't know about the diesels but the gas is as carefree as they come.
