Day late on this but I was fishing instead. I have a few friends that use flax straw for wind breaks, they say it dont break down and the animals dont dig into it much. may last for years.

Works slick since they were just babies this year. A poor man's windbreak to keep the cold off 'em.

'Course the way I baby 'em, their windbreak is getting shorter all the time as I bed on the drop of a hat. :>)

Next year I hope to have enough wheat straw to stack the bales about 3 or 4 high. The way the corrals are laid out, that would give me some protection in the yard as well. :>)
