This probably sounds silly - but I've been looking, on and off, for years - for a good source for diesel fuel return line in bulk. The same basic hose is used on Deere tractors, Volkswagen, Mercedes and Audi diesels, Ford and GM diesels with the 6.2, 6.5s, 6.9s, 7.3s, and I'm sure many other applications. When I worked for Deere, we got it in 10' or 20' lengths. Many other places sell in in either short lengths, or pre-cut "return hose" kits. It is a very pliable, soft hose with no internal braiding. Usually has an unstretched i.d. or 1/8" or 3.5 mms. Some of the Italian and German made hose comes with an anti-abrasion sheath on the outside. In precut, or short lengths, it's usually $2 to $3 per foot. I'd like to find a source where I could buy a roll - less waste that way, and hopefully less per foot. I'd tried my usual sources, e.g. Mcnaster, Enco Baum, MSC, Gates, etc.

Aloha, You could buy regular bulk fuel hose from the local auto parts or hose repair shop.

Automotive fuel hose has a braid built into the wall and is not the same.

No, I didn't get the email. I haven't worked for a Deere dealer since 1991. At that time, we couldn't get it from Deere in rolls, only in cut lengths of 10' or 20'. Has that changed?

I had a tractor that was sucking air in the fuel system and bought a roll of 1/8" clear nylon fuel hose to check for bubbles at the injectors. It was about $22. for a 50 foot roll. After I got the problem cured I left the clear line on and that was 5 years ago, still pliable and no leaks.I got it from MFG supply. (mfgsupply.com)
There are some other line that can be used,I think Tygon is the brand name.

I know the IH 400 series engines use a 3/16" return line between the injector's and I've bought it in bulk at our local TSC store when I couldn't find it at an auto parts store.

Try a Mack Truck dealer, the return hose on the 1988 four valve head 350,s may be what you are looking for. Dave in Va.
