My son installed an amp in his truck and had played fine for a while. He took it out to use in a car for a bit and after a couple hours of working fine he turned down the stereo and when turned back up it didn't work anymore. It has a protection light on now. What could be wrong with it,could it be cleared or repaired? Thanks for some info.

I would guess that it has internal fuses. Possibly a breaker, but more likely fuses. The systems can react to accidental disconnect, shorts, and improper impedence with fuse blowing. If there is documentation, read it, or google the company for info on repair. JimN
