Does anyone know which 12 volt generator has a tachometer drive like the original on the 59 TO-35 ?
I want to replace the 6 volt generator on my '55 TO-35 with a 12 volt like my 59 TO-35 has. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Most elect tach will work on Gas engines they also make tach that use a pick up like speedometer on new cars & trucks .

Ford made ample use of Lucas generators on the thousand series, and they all had tach drives. There should be no shortage of them around unless they've been plundered for their copper already....
Why not search around on this site and find a Delco 10si alternator, for the Ford thousand series application, tach drive included. As I said, the most useful part in the Lucas generator at this point is the copper it will yeild at the scrap yard.

The 12 volt generator on my Continental gas MF-135 drives the tachometer.

I don't know the generator model number but my Case 630 originally had the tack driven off the 12 volt generator. There was an attachment on the end of the generator opposite the pulley that had a gear drive in it that drove the tach. I had to replace the generator and the new one did not have a method of attaching the unit. I have thought about installing an electronic tach but not too hard. Anyone have any recogmendations.
