Here in Muleshoe we have approx. 8 inches on the ground and it's still falling. They say we could get up to 14 inches before it's over.

With a name like Crusader a man would think you had something to do with the 523rd Fighter Unit there at Cannon AFB. Do you? I am retired from the 522nd since 2000. It looks like we are at the end of our snowfall here now, total around 10 inches.

First time at Cannon I was in the 524 and Arm Shop, and my second time was in the 523. While in the Arm Shop I went with the 522 on their first trip to the desert back in '97). I had planned to retire in '05 but it seems that they caught up with me and I had to make the trip to Kunsan (wasn't a bad trip at all either). I got here to Dyess in October and have made numerous trips through Muleshoe on my way to Clovis to see the wife. Due to the fact that I studied while at the Kun, I made rank and it will be two or three more years before I retire. Take care and have a good day. Did you ever work at load barn?

Jim

Jim

I was first stationed at Cannon back in 1989, stayed for 5 years, worked load barn till 1996. Taught academics for a while during that time then went to Iceland for two years and came back to the 522nd and work for Todd Shaffer till he went to run armament and I went to train the 428th Singapore Load Crews. Your name is familiar, I am sure we know each other by face. I run into Steve Coyle now and then, he is a locksmith now in Clovis. Keep in touch.

Gary,
You'll have to give me your phone number. Next time I am passing through Muleshoe I'll give you a call. I remember Steve, he was one of the flight chiefs before he retired. I remember Schaefer from the 522, he would've left for Arm Shop after I left for England. I was there from Aug 93 until Dec 97 when I went to Lakenheath. Then from Jan 03 to Sep 05 when I left for Kunsan. I think I remember you from the load barn. You were the instructor prior to J.B. who is still in the area also, I think he works or worked for Fastenal. LOL, I left for five years and when I returned there were people there that were then when I got there the first time that had never left. Last I heard, a couple of them are still there. I've been on the base a couple of times, but only to shop (wife likes grocery shopping there). She is a seamstress and has a shop not far from the base at Sam's Trailer Park. Take care, and I'll email you if my email account wants to work. Never thought I would run accross someone that I had been stationed with or hung iron with on this site.

later days mate,
Jim

Howdy Gary,
I spoke with my wife (she lives in Clovis NM) a couple of hours ago and she said that there was a foot of snow in the backyard. For some reason she wasn't wanting to leave the house and I'm hoping she stays home where it's warm instead of driving around town. Take care and hope the snow doesn't get too deep for you.

Jim

10 miles west of Duluth Mn. were lucky to have
8 inches so far this year. there only about 2 incheson the ground now. Its hurt many businesses
in the area that count on the winter income.
Have a good day down there and be safe in that bad weather.

Maybe it will freeze some of those Fricken Mexicans in their tracks. It is too bad that the Minutemen cant shoot the ones jumping the fences.

No such luck. We will probly give them new coats where they dont get cold.

You know in our shcool here you cant call them Mexicans because that is degrading.

There is so many of them here now there is no way to get rid of them.

We've had a nice winter up north so far. Not much snow, and not much cold. I'll be mad if this global warming shifts the banana belt up north. I like my isolation, lol!

Im 50 miles East of Dallas, close to Canton Tx, where the First Monday Trade Days are if you heard of it.

We have had a little ice over the last week but nothing major other than rain about every day. They keep saying we might get some more ice and some snow but so far we hae been lucky.

So far the precip is staying north of us today. My little town is smack dab between Houston and Austin. How about a picture or two??
