FRUSTRATING!! I have got some oil seed planted and am trying to find a personal size press. The only ones i can find are foreign made and rather pricey. I thought i would try to make 1 myself. WHERE DID ALL THE INDUSTRY GO IN AMERICA?? I have tried to find a ring gear (with interior teeth) and all i can find are overseas suppliers!! DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF A SHOP OUT THERE THAT CAN STILL MAKE GEARS OR STILL DOES CUSTOM FABRICATION??

For Gears (and all kinds of other Power Transmission stuff...)

Berg Manfacturing
McMaster-Carr
MSC (Manhattan Supply Co.)
Kaman
Applied Industrial

Talk to your local machine shop

Are you using the planetary gear set for speed reduction? You could also use a worm/bull gear setup and do about the same thing, might be cheaper/easier?

Rush Gear will cut any gear for a price. A princely price. They used to be known as Boston Gear.

Browning drive still sells stock gears at reasonablee prices, but internal gears are not stock gears.

There should be some internal gears in planetary gear sets out of automatic transmissions.
