I think they froze on the way over so we should be ok as far as cross breeding.

I'll say one thing for a NW Nebraska dryland tractor.

Most things come apart rust free unlike here in Iowa.

But there is more dust than we have on them here.

Very little rust on this 25 year old tractor.

Gary

On the earlier pictures on the trailer I noticed that air cleaner, and may be the exhaust pipe were removed. Was that for height clearance on the trip, or to keep them from tearing loose on the interstate at 65 mph? Trying to learn something.....

Wind resistance.

Easier to plug the intake so blower would not spin.

And height.

EB,

I yanked that precleaner and raincap off a couple of hours before the trailer got here. Wanted to be able to tape off the air intake and also the exhaust so that the moving air couldn't spin that turbo wheel. Just used plain old duct tape.

Wouldn't do it any good to spin for 750 miles with no lube oil from the engine.

Naw,

Wasn't my real estate; pretty sure that is Box Butte county under there. :>)

We have a problem Houston.

I can smell this one coming. Gary is gonna get that tractor all shined up, I'll feel bad and have to tear into my 1066 next winter.

It never ends, Boys, it just never ends.

Yeah,

I had originally intended to clean all that up, but then got to feeling "guilty" 'cause it wasn't my tractor. Cleanin' and fixin' is 90% of the fun. :>)

Did you notice that broken bolt on the left side sheet metal? Oh, and the middle heat shield partition wasn't bolted down thru the top neither.

Oh heck! I'm makin' myself all teary-eyed again. :>)

Gonna paint it before it leaves the shop.

Let me tell you guys.

This tractor ain't gonna take much to get ready for paint.

Got to fix the fuel return lines to dry up the motor. A little sanding on the old decals. And we can paint.

My newer tractors have more oil leaks than this one.

Isn't she just a grand old lady?

Spent the first 30 years pullin' 'er guts out in western Nebraska and now more than willing to do it all over again in eastern Iowa.

Did you notice that someone has already changed the hydraulics over to the automatic pioneer couplers for ya? I didn't even see that until the last day it was here.

It shure must be a pretty darn solid tractor according to your slide-hammer-rust-tester tool!

Around here, all we get is severe weathering of the paint if left out in the sun. That"s the key, isn"t it? Keepin" them "ol birds inside a nice shop.

Forgot to add 2 bangs on that slide hammer and the TA lever came right off.

Got to work on it about an hour today and got all the tin work off.

Need a warm day to slide it out the door and steamclean the dirt off that was under the tin.

Allan you forgot your seat belt. Surely your not gonna use that cab without a seat belt are you.(:~})

Sure do stan.

Ted is familiar but can't put a face on him right now.

I had class mates that were Freese also.

Ted would be in his late '70s I would guess. We ran around with his sister and her husband in CR back in the day.

I couldn't put a face to the name either anymore.

Thanks for the reply...enjoy that new tractor!

Stan
