Thanks, I hadn't heard that in a long time. Hoar frost it is on that sprayer valve and guage.

I"m sure glad all you southerners and midwesterners finally figured out how to steal our ice storms; that"s how it used to look here (Portland OR) every year. It"s cold (for us) here: low 20s at night, 30-32 daytime, not unusual for short periods (but snow at the beach was unusual!). We haven"t had a real ice storm for 5-8 years or so (knock on wood!!).

We get ice storms too here sometimes with higher elevation on TX panhandle caprock but usually clear coating of ice and not the frozen fog like this one was. Storm before we had clear ice and then 6" of snow. The Colorado guy ID it right being Hoar frost that is in first pic on a sprayer handle valve and guage. Was 7 here last night and only up to 15 so far. We haven't had this kind of cold in a while.

Oh my, how well I remember those ugly ice storms when I used to live up at that end of the state. Still warm down here by the border, in the 80's again today but they say the front will be here mid day tomorrow. We will surely get rain, but nothing pretty like you got. I sure hope that tree doesn't decide to come down on your barn and or power line.
Stay warm!

Well I guess it blew down your way more last night? I had heard citrus might have froze down that way night before too. Too bad if it did because grapefruit was really good this time. Yeah figure power will be out again when this ice starts coming off. Sun is out today but still only 15 up here and was 7 last night.

Yep, it made it all the way down here. Came in about 6:30 AM, temps dropped quick and it's still just a light drizzle at noon. Temp right now is 49 and I know that seems mild but we slept with the windows open last night enjoying the warm southerly breeze.
As for any freeze, they say if it does it will only be for a few hours maybe tomorrow night. That won't hurt the citrus at all, if anything it will help make it sweeter. Yes, the Ruby Reds are real good again this year. Cabbage has been doing real good again this year too. Only people not real happy right now are the sod farmers, their grass isn't real pleased when it gets cold!
