Gas in Oil

I've got an Allis Chalmers B that just recently started getting gas in the oil (like one day it didnt and a week later it had enough to thin it out and add maybe a half an inch to the dipstick) it seems to run the same (not missing) and i tore the carb apart and the needle valve and float seemed fine. Anyone have any other ideas? I hate to keep running it like this but I can't come up with anything else.
Thanks, Krawzyk

Yeah, I"ve been shutting off the gas since I noticed, and changed the oil once. But it still seems to be getting in there which could only mean while its running. Does that pretty much mean it"s the intake valve? Would a compression test show thats the problem? Thanks!

I would check the valve adjustment. You could have an intake valve staying open a little bit.
Also though as old said , you will always get some oil dilution. Cold starts and having teh choke on cause that. That is why you should change your oil fairly regularly.

Is your fuel system gravity feed or does it have a mechanical fuel pump? The old diaphragm pumps that were mechanically driven could get a ruptured diaphragm and leak gas into the oil.

Veru common problem on almost all tractors. First off change the oil before you run it any more or you can/will blow the engine. Next every time you park it shut the gas off or it will happen again. What happens if the float needle seeps a little then that over fills the carb, then the gas flows up and into to engine, yes it goes up hill. Seen it to many times on to many tractors, doesn't matter what color they are they all can do it. BTDT

Don't know much about AC B, but check the fuel pump if it has one. tom

Sounds like another mistery.Probably one valve was in the open position and syphoned gas in from the carburator thru the valves up the head and down by the push rods since your tank is higher.Change oil and see what happens
