are you just trying to get people going or what?. Like someone else said. There is a cover over that clutch and they are water tight unless there is a hole broken in it somewheres, but this would be real easy for you to spot. Plus, even if you buy a shaft drive, you are still going to have a clutch just the same, and shaft drives are not bullet proof either, and can be twisted off if you beat it hard enough. Like someone else said, put down some poison and get rid of the problem, not trade machines just for that reason since the mice are quite apt to find something to either chew on or make a nest in on your brand new machine and whatever else you have in your garage.

I have never seen a hole in the V/S clutch housing cover for mice to even get in. Heck, my old 94' is still water tight. Those things fit snug, thats why they can be a pain to take off and put back together. Leads me to think your just looking for a reason to get a new ATV. To each his own.

I have a 2003 honda foreman 450 ES. Have never had a problem and it gets used hard. Hunting, pulling racks trailers around, and even is used to pull small trailers of wood from the woods. BIL's has a 2004 polaris 400 sportsman, has not had a hard life, right now, 4x4 does not work for ?? reason, starts hard, sounds and feels like a womans bedroom freind, and really likes the fuel. I do have to say though it is 10x better ride than my honda on rough terrain.

Put some steel wool in plastic bags and enclose the openings, they won't chew through the steel wool. Done this in the airbox of my Honda XR250L motorcycle, with no problems, good luck. Just remember to remove the bags when you use it.

Dont blame the 4 wheeler manufacturer because of your inability to maintain the storage area. A little mouse poison does a lot of good around 4 wheelers and lawn mowers.
