Been watching and listening lately on here and seems to me we have the makings for a good ole' boy music group made up of contributors from this site. We got Allan from Neb. on lead guitar and vocal, Cowman on keyboard, Ia Gary on drums. Sloroll can chip in his player piano on backup and I'll sing backup if we can find a few guy or gal lead singers. So who else wants to join in. Maybe a sax or trumpet etc... Already have a couple gigs lined up for next summer and winter. May involve a little travel but man we could make em' rock in the streets. Gotta be be some gifts out there that need to be discovered. Let' go. We'll practice at different sites while we farm at day and jamb at night and than move on to the next. Migraine p.s. ok maybe I'm just bored today and taken too much cough medicine for a very sore throat

These guys talking about loosing guitars and stuff are making me sick. I've managed to lose 2 - one an Egmond 12 string that didn't do bade once I got it tuned....
I just strum a bit and cain't really say I pick fer self-esteem reasons here in Nashville.

this brings back a funny story, and one crazy imagine in my head. worked at a resort where they had a "jam session" in the evening for the older folks to pick and grin, well i just so happened to have my trust ol' strat with me and my darlin les paul, whammy pedels, and good ol' peavey amp and was invited to comedown and play with these ol' boys so when work finished that eve me and some of my co-workers that enjoyed good music went down to the session--during the introduction of everyone played a little instrumental, and i snapped, and went off into the most blues influenced version of waylons "only daddy that'll walk the line" anyone had ever heard, needless to say the crowd grew, and i was on the list for the next 3 months, and the jam session got a little younger, lets get it going boys

I'm afraid my guitar has gotten a little rusty but if anyone has a kazoo I can do a halfway decent imitation of a strangled duck.....

I know.....don't call us, we'll call you. I've heard it before. :-)

Always looking for an opportunity to play! Wish I lived closer to you all. I play the Saxophone, mostly the Tenor but also the Alto and Soprano.

Well,
I can't pick or fiddle but I do have a pretty good bass singing voice. If you all can play some Johny Cash, Tennesee Earnie Ford or the Crash Test Dummies I could join right in.

Parents were friends of theres and use to do jab sessions with them.

Yes sir that is correct.

Is the band still playing or did it fold up?

Is florian senior still living?

Florian jr was about my age.

Florian senior was a legislator when I played with them.

Don't think I haven't thought about that migraine.

Use to play in a band myself but it got to be work when we played more than 2 nites a week.

Would love to find a group that plays a couple of nites a month.

If we were a little closer together I think it would work.

Mornin' Jim,

I've got this '80 Jazz model that I've had to refinish twice out of pure, old-fashioned necessity.

Too bad too, 'cause that thing would have been worth some bucks if it had remained original. :>(

All the others are Strats equipped with midi pickups in one form or another. Got too darned much money tied up in toys! :>(

I've been at it roughly 50 years. Never did learn how tho. :>)

When I was really into this music thing, there was a long stretch there where I went for years without ever missing a day that I didn't play at least 10 hours a day.

Heck! That is worse than playin' with old tractors! :>)

I had a bass that I played a little in the band.

Loaned it to my sil to learn to play.

She left my brother and I never saw my bass again.

I bought a 100' Whirlwind snake one time to run the mixer. Left it in the care of the fair-sexed singer.

It was in Utah and headed east, last time I saw it. 'Spose it got traded for a couple more bottles of her treasured Tequila. :>(

That reminds me of the time I was at a jam session one Sunday afternoon somewhere in some town in Montana.

There was this fellow who had a big yellow bull fiddle and it was really quite the novelty in that little town. Everyone was just raving about how well he could play that darned standup bass.

I sat there listening to him thumping on that thing and he never hit a correct note all afternoon.

I think it was there and then I realized how "fickle" the public really is. :>)

Some people huh.

You guys are the best medicine on the shelf. Kinda needed a laugh and you always come thru. Sounds like we have potential here. Maybe we could have a traveling soundtrack and each member could add their gift till we get back to the original member, then take it to label company and sell it for big bucks. Couldn't be any more stretched than the "tunes" I hear these days. Keep the ideas cicling in your heads and we'll come up with a plan. We actually saw the sun here this a.m. and it stayed for almost an hour. More storms moving in again with rain and snow and wind. How many days till spring anyway? Migraine
