Farm Show Magazine would like me to read their magazine and also win a tractor! Looking for feed back on the publication?

I"d give it a try. If you get one good idea a year that you can use, it is worth the money. If after a year you haven`t found anything worthwhile, you aren`t out all that much.

I have gotten some pretty good ideas from Farm Show that has saved me some $$$ over buying a piece of readymade equipment. You don't have to get much from something this day and time to recoup $15.Plus I find reading beats TV anytime.

I find Farm Show interesting.Sometimes a basic idea is worth more than 15.00 a sub costs.I built a log hauler from a magazine article.Made several improvements on the design.Cost me 200.00 for parts. The haulers cost 1800.00 ready made.It lets me hoist logs off the ground and travel on the highway. The logs are clean and its a simple matter to back over one or more , hoist them up and go.Ive built a DC weld converter,Cultivator,Tractor carryall, trailer, lift boom, sheet metal brake, tire changer and many shop tools. This goes back to reading Popular Mechanics and magazines like it.Lincoln Electric published books like Farm Arc Welding to get ideas on welding to Farmers so they could use welders to build and repair equipment.3 packs of cigarettes will cost 15.00 now.Try it if you dont like it dont renew.

They did a story on my farm shop (built from a steel grain bin cut in 1/2 and turned on it's side --- junk from junk?) 4 or 5 years ago. I subscribed before and after the story though I have not renewed this year. There were lots of cool things I wanted to build as shown in the magazine, but I never had enough time or money.

If you like to read about how someone cobbled together junk to make more junk, or how someone bought a used POS that had been traded in, and cannot understand why it continually needs repair, or if you want to read about how some user is upset about how a 50-60 year old machine was designed, then go for it.
Another alternative is to keep reading YT.stoopid, and you get the same laughable commentary for free.

Farm Show Magazine contacted me about a year ago and wanted to do an artcle on my stainless shop. I balked until I got a copy of the magazine from a neighbor. I thought of it as more geared to the farm shop mechanic. I stopped burning plow beams back together and hard facing moldboards, shins and points 30 years ago. Have built a few spiffy stainless steel feed carts though. But I didn't think this magazine was really up my alley.

Farm Show is interesting, but it is true that I almost never find anything I find truly useful. The best and worst buys section could be worth the price by itself though. TSC sometimes has issues for sale, you could glance at one to see if it is of interest to you.

Received same, as did my wife, at the same address. Today's technology should not allow two mailings to come to the same address. Twelve months for 14.95 does not sound bad. Problem, only 6 issues. Too expensive for someone that receives 6, or more farm and tractor, publications per month. As an owner of a 1946 Farmall A and a 1953 Ford Jubilee, a retired school teacher, with only 11 acres believes he does not need it.

My 2 cents worth

I subscribed to it for a year, and the first couple issues were interesting, but after that it got kid of boring. as I heard stated elsewhere about it, there are only so many ways you can open a gate, etc.
