I was just wondering what John Deere SCV's are and what they do? I've figured out that it stands for "Selective Control Valves" (i think, not sure if I remember correctly) This tells me a bit but on the Deere site they don't explain it.

John Deere's system to hook hydraulic hoses to the tractor's hydraulic system, for remote cylinders. Coupler is a different design than IH or Pioneer. Current models use the standard ISO design so they interchange with other current mfrs so no adapter is needed. They are a closed center system for many years.

The early 4020's, and companion tractors of that era and earlier newgens have the SCV under the hood, NOT paired with the couplers, and they're still called SCV's.

Simple think of "SCV" as DEERESPEAK for "hydraulic valve". They are unitized... one SCV for each pair of coupler bodies.
