OK, I'm lazy! I want to display my toy tractors but our house is dusty. House is 3 years old Design home, Tight and easy to heat and cool, I use good furnace filters, Not the 99cent ones. My wife has a lot of knick-nacks out upstairs and she is always having to dust them. When I finished basement , on an inside wall, I left cut outs between studs to make built in shelves to put a few tractors on and I need a pretty good sized cabinet to put the rest in or a shelf all along one wall. I don't want to have to take them down and dust them, but I don't want them to look like crap in a few months. How do you guys display you collectibles? It's getting to the point that I'm not sure of all that I have. Got 2 more for Christmas and want to start putting them out to look at. Y,all have a safe and prosperous New Year, Chris

Thanks for the replies and the pictures. Guess I'll have to give some thought to building some display cases. Chris

Dust and toys are a problem.

My wife said either you dust the toys or they are gone.

Not wanting to dust all the time I built these cabinets out of old barn boards.

Its not in this picture but they have glass sliding doors on the front.

The doors are off so the light does reflect in the glass.

Took about one day to build but the safty glass for the shelves and doors are rather pricy.

The bases are about 2 foot tall and holdall the empty boxes.

But I have not had to dust in the 5 years that I have used these cabinets.

mine are just on shelves and in glass cases.haven't dusted does'nt seem to be that large of problem, also alot of them are in dispay cases that were once used in restaurants as pie display cases. Has the lights and still rotates. have those in show room in shop. I would just make a glass case with mirrors behind.
